Sierra Wireless revises 2Q earnings down, cuts jobs

VANCOUVER, Canada-Wireless modem gear maker Sierra Wireless has said it will cut its staff and contractors to 180 from 275 and revised its second-quarter earnings downward, expecting a loss of $40 million, or $2.46 a share.

The company also announced the retirement of president and chief operating officer Glen Brownlee and the departure of vice president for engineering Marek Dutkiewicz.
