Ovum looks at data mobility market

SAN JOSE, Calif.—There is a potential market of 20 million users and annual revenues of $350 million for data mobility services, according to a new study from research firm Ovum.

The study, commissioned by FusionOne, found that 63 percent of U.S. respondents would pay for data mobility services like synchronization, and that 26 percent spent more than half their time away from the office.

“This research by Ovum demonstrates that mobile operators can maximize revenue and better service their customers’ needs by offering synchronization services,” said Rick Onyon, FusionOne’s president and chief executive officer. FusionOne offers Internet-based synchronization services.
