SAN DIEGO-Wireless start-up PC-EPhone Inc. today released its new integrated personal digital assistant/CDMA phone, a device the company said was two years in the making.

The PC-EPhone initially will be sold for wireless data only, and features a 640 x 480 color screen, a standard compact flash slot and an integrated CDMA modem and telephone. To use the device on a CDPD or CDMA network, users must purchase a compact flash slot card, which is available from Enfora Inc. and Socket Communications Inc.

Other major device companies, such as Palm Inc. and Handspring Inc., have promised an integrated wireless product by the end of the year.
