INTERVOICE ENTERS DEVELOPMENT DEAL

DALLAS-InterVoice Inc. and Open Development Corp. reached an agreement to develop a platform for multivendor calling card and prepaid services.

The Original Equipment Manufacturer agreement calls for the pair to develop an application programming interface between InterVoice’s Network Services Platform 5000 and Open Development’s openMedia applications and database. The resulting product is scheduled to be available this summer.

“As competition among telecommunications service providers increases, alternate billing methods, especially calling cards and prepaid services, will become even more important in differentiating their services,” said Nancy Jamison, principal analyst with Dataquest.

“The InterVoice/ODC solution appears to address the most critical market issues for telco and wireless providers: that of providing a broad array of applications that can be deployed very quickly with lower cost to the providers.”
