ALCATEL DELIVERS NEW PCS CROSS CONNECT

RICHARDSON, Texas-Alcatel Telecom said it recently delivered and installed the first 1630 CSX compact digital cross connect for the personal communications services market.

The 1630 CSX was installed in PrimeCo Personal Communications L.P.’s Milwaukee service area. The installation was part of a two-year agreement signed in January 1996, which called for Alcatel to install cross connects in PrimeCo’s 11 service areas.

The product provides bandwidth management and performance monitoring functions. The entire Alcatel 1630 CSX system, which includes the controller, matrix and input/output ports, is contained in one rack, the company said.
