ERICSSON INKS DEALS FOR CHINESE NETS

STOCKHOLM, Sweden-L.M. Ericsson signed two contracts with the Jiangsu Post & Telecommunications Administration to expand its Global System for Mobile communications and Total Access Communication System networks in China.

Ericsson values the contract for GSM equipment at $60 million. The equipment is part of the second phase expansion of the Jiangsu GSM network, which will boost total network capacity to 1 million.

The TACS contract is valued at $20 million and is the third expansion of the network, bringing its network capacity to 300,000.
