NEW YORK-American Alpha Dispatch Services Inc. launched “Personalized PIN,” a transcription text service enhancement that Sidney Mandel, company president, said is new to the alphanumeric paging industry.
Standard personal identification number services require use of a common toll free number, and also require the caller to know another set of additional digits in order to access a subscriber’s account. At the same time, the caller doesn’t know if he or she has reached the intended message recipient.
The Personalized PIN offered by American Alpha automatically connects callers who have entered the PIN on their phone keypad to a dispatch operator. The dispatch operator verbally confirms the subscriber’s PIN number with a personalized greeting. This confirmation helps assure callers that they have reached the correct party.
American Alpha, headquartered in Hicksville, N.Y., is offering the new feature free to all existing and new customers. The company’s basic monthly wholesale rate is $7, Mandel said.
