CLEARNET TO LEASE NEW HEADQUARTERS

PICKERING, Ontario-Clearnet Communications Inc. said it will consolidate its national headquarters into a single building this fall in the Toronto area.

The company signed a 10-year lease for the 220,000 square foot building in Scarborough’s Consilium Place office complex.

“Our staff has more than quadrupled in the last two years as we’ve launched our MiKE business communications network and will continue to grow significantly as we prepare for the introduction of Clearnet [personal communications services] this year,” said George Cope, Clearnet’s president and chief executive officer.

Clearnet has more than 750 employees in offices in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Montreal. The company said it expects to create 400 new positions across Canada this year.
