GERMANTOWN, Md.-Hughes Network Systems Inc. and BellSouth Cellular Corp. announced that BellSouth Mobility Inc. has successfully moved over commercial cellular traffic in Nashville, Tenn., to HNS’ GMH 2000 system.
In the past several months, HNS had deployed the GMH 2000 cellular system in all of BellSouth’s cellular markets in Louisiana and Alabama, and in many other major metropolitan areas throughout the South. Currently supporting the existing analog system in the BellSouth markets, the GMH 2000 will provide BellSouth with an easy migration path to digital, the companies said.
