MOTOROLA EXPANDS SYSTEM WITH CDMA IN GUATEMALA

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill.-Motorola Inc.’s Pan American Wireless Infrastructure Division will expand Comunicaciones Celulares’ cellular phone system in Guatemala City and surrounding areas, Motorola announced.

The contract, valued at $20 million, calls for Motorola to add 12 SC 9600 digital base stations that support Advanced Mobile Phone Service, Narrowband AMPS and Code Division Multiple Access technologies. Motorola will also install the EMX 2500 capacity switch.
