Thomas A. Barlett was named president of the Northeast regional territory for the Bell Atlantic Mobile and Nynex Mobile joint venture. Barlett will be responsible for sales, marketing, engineering, asministration, finance and network systems in the region, which includes all of New England and upstate New York. Barlett formerly was regional vice president for Bell atlantic Mobile’s Philadelphis tri-state region. He joined Bell Atlantic in 1983.

Coral Systems appointed Jeffrey W. Phillips to the newly created position of director of radio frequency products. He will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans using RF and signal processing technologies. Before joining Longmont, Colo.-based Coral, Phillips was the managing director of the wireless communications business area for ESL Inc., a TRW company. Phillips has done work in defense surveillance systems, satellite and radio communications signal acquisition, geopositioning, geolocation and operational analysis.

Omnipoint Corp. has named Bradley E. Sparks the chief financial officer for the company’s Arlington, Va., headquarters. Sparks was formerly with MCI Communications Corp., most recently serving as vice president and controller. Prior to his employment at MCI, Sparks worked for Ryder System Inc. He has more than 12 years of experience in financial management. Omnipoint is based in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Key management positions have been filled at PCS PrimeCo L.P., the partnership of AirTouch Communications, U S West Inc., Nynex Corp. and Bell Atlantic Corp. Daniel P. Behuniak has been appointed regional president and chief operating officer of the Southeast region, responsible for the partnership’s wireless operations in Florida, Virginia and Alabama. He was formerly president of Bell Atlantic Personal Communications Inc.

Daniel J. Sutherland has been named regional president and chief operating officer of the Southwest region, responsible for operations in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. He was previously vice president of strategic marketing at U S West.

Michael R. Gee has been appointed PrimeCo’s vice president of marketing. He formerly was vice president of sales and customer service at U S West Enhanced Services Inc.

James A. Petit has been named vice president and chief technical officer of PrimeCo. He formerly was executive director of PCS technology for AirTouch. Dennis G. Spickler has been chosen vice president of finance and information technology; he previously served as managing director of mergers and acquisitions at Bell Atlantic. George W. Tenney has been appointed vice president of external affairs and general counsel. He formerly was senior counsel at AirTouch. Nancy J. Hemmenway has been elected vice president of human resources, previously serving as director of human resources planning at Bell Atlantic.

PCS Development Corp., which won five regional licenses in the narrowband auction last fall, announced that Harry L. Latham, formerly with SkyTel Corp., has been named senior vice president of sales and marketing of PCSD. The consortium company expects to begin trials in selected top 30 markets by year’s end.

McKenzie Telecommunications Group Inc. of Scottsdale, Ariz., has hired Arni Van der Molen as the company’s chief financial officer. Van der Molen has 15 years of financial experience, most recently with Willis Corroon Corp. of Phoenix. Also, Larry Hughes was promoted from general manager to director of operations with nationwide responsibility.

Crystronics Inc., a manufacturer of aftermarket pager crystals, has added two executives to its marketing and international sales efforts. Donna Cohen now is director of marketing, responsible for increasing the company’s domestic market share and maximizing the company’s research on pager frequency demands and trends. Cohen previously supervised direct marketing campaigns for clients such as Federal Express, GTE Corp. and PepsiCo’s Taco Bell.

Maria Macias has been appointed Crystronics’ director of international marketing. Her responsibilities include expanding the company’s international market share with a focus on emerging markets. Macias previously provided marketing service to British Airways in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Jim Cameron has been appointed vice president of sales and marketing for Wireless Plus Inc. He will be responsible for market development for the company’s California statewide 220 MHz specialized mobile radio network. Cameron previously was with Nextel Communications Inc.

Dial Call Communications Inc. has named William H. King the regional vice president of business development for the company’s Atlantic Region, which includes North and South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.

The company also named Harry D. Zolides area vice president and general manager for Dial Call’s Atlantic Region, the Greenville/Spartanburg, S.C., market.

King will be responsible for marketing Dial Call’s equipment and service to the business community. He was previously with Hughes Aircraft Co. for 14 years, and three years in the Netherlands with SHAPE Technical Centre in business development, system engineering and as a scientist.

Zolides is responsible for the overall start-up and management of the upstate operations; he will direct both analog and digital systems. He formerly was with Bell Atlantic Mobile Systems for eight years.

Dial Call is building an enhanced specialized mobile radio network in five Southern states. Dial Call is a subsidiary of Dial Page, which has headquarters in Atlanta.

Carole L. Vanyo has been hired as director of customer care for MetroCel Cellular Telephone Co. Prior to joining MetroCel, Vanyo was director of quality and training for CIGNA HealthCare in Sherman, Texas.

In her new position, she will be responsible for customer-related operations, including local and regional customer care, and MetroCel Connect live-operator, concierge-style information service.

Palmer Wireless Inc. recently named Margaret Osborne its vice president of marketing and Jim Fredrickson its vice president of engineering. As such, both employees are company officers.

Osborne joined Palmer Communications Inc. in 1987 as part of the cellular start-up team after PCI purchased its first Cellular One property in Lee County, Fla. She previously was director of marketing.

As vice president of engineering, Fredrickson is responsible for the design, construction and maintenance of the cellular system. He previously was director of engineering.

With a recent public stock offering, the public now owns 24 percent of Palmer Wireless stock, while Palmer communications and its affiliates hold the remaining 76 percent.

Matt Wisk has been appointed director of marketing for Nokia Mobile Phones Inc. In this position, he will be responsible for overseeing all marketing activities, including advertising and sponsorships, product marketing, special program development and competitive analysis.

For the past year, Wisk has been strategic marketing manager for Nokia Mobile Phones in Texas. He joined the company in 1994 and initially served as marketing manager for Nokia’s Technophone brand. He previously has been employed at McCaw Cellular Communications Inc., NEC America and GTE Corp.
