ITC expands patent license with Japan Radio

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pennsylvania, United States—InterDigital Technology Corporation (ITC), subsidiary of InterDigital Communications, is expanding its patent license that includes CDMA and third-generation (3G) products.

The agreement with Japan Radio expands ITC’s patent license coverage to include wireless devices and infrastructure equipment designed for GSM, CDMA and all 3G standards, as well as TDMA-based specifications.

“Our patent portfolio now stands at over 3,600 patents and patent applications worldwide, covering TDMA and CDMA inventions conceived over a 15-year period,” said William J. Merritt, president and director of ITC. He added that in 2001 ITC secured 42 patents worldwide and filed for an additional 249.
