This week on IoT Innovation, host Jeff Mucci dives into Germany’s plan to lead the 4th industrial revolution via “Industrie 4.0”, a government driven economic plan, supported by academia and industry, to ensure that German engineering prowess remains at the forefront of IoT Innovation – worldwide.
By focusing initially on semiconductor level micro electronic systems and process, Germany Industrie 4.0 leverages the country’s existing manufacturing base to become the epicenter of “smart plant” production.
Industrie 4.0 is said to have inspired Made in China 2025, China’s 10-year strategy tied to cloud, big data, and IoT. In fact, earlier this year China and Germany agreed to collaborate on manufacturing automation process and systems.
    Today’s program reviews:
    – The history of industrial revolutions
    – The essentials for industrial revolutions
    – Examples of process and systems required for transformation
In addition, we interviewed Rob Chandhok, president of venture backed SF start-up, Helium Systems, who announced this week an end-to-end, intelligent IoT Framework that will allow enterprise and industrial IoT manufacturers to massively scale IoT deployments to millions of end points.
