WiFi coming to New York airports

NEW YORK-LaGuardia, John F. Kennedy and Newark airports, all operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, will have public and private wireless local area network access by year-end.

Concourse Communications, Springfield, Mass., has begun deployment of the neutral host network at LaGuardia, and is working with Wayport Inc., Austin, Texas, a Wi-Fi service provider.

As part of its campaign to publicize its new Centrino mobile chip with Wi-Fi access capability, Intel Corp. is promoting free trial use of Wayport’s access options at LaGuardia airport through April 12.
