Title: Quenching the Thirst for Mobile Broadband

Speaker: Michael J. Schabel, Ph.D., Vice President, Alcatel-Lucent, Wireless Division

Description: Once mobile subscribers experience the taste of great mobile broadband, they want and expect more of it. The only way to satisfy this demand is through unmatched Quality of Service. For Competitive Carriers, this means maximizing coverage and capacity by scaling their networks to provide the mobile broadband experience customers expect.

During this keynote, Alcatel-Lucent Wireless Vice President Mike Schabel will discuss what it will take to quench the thirst for mobile broadband, become competitive quickly and able to deliver profitable services to wireless broadband customers. Key areas of consideration for Competitive Carriers include preparing high-capacity backhaul capabilities, ensuring adequate core networks for large amounts of data, and Hetnet implementation where it’s needed. Staying competitive also requires these operators to assess their entire wireless broadband network with capacity, coverage and flexibility in mind.
