Orange and Samsung sign a European partnership agreement to launch an Orange portal on new Samsung Smart TVs

Samsung and Orange signed July 6th 2011 a European partnership agreement to provide an Orange content and services portal for Samsung Smart TVs.

The portal will be available in France in the coming weeks on Samsung Smart TVs 2011 line-up and then on Samsung Blu-ray players and Home cinema 2011, before being rolled out across other European countries where Orange is present from the second half of 2011.

According to Xavier Perret, Vice President for Service Partnerships & Business Development at Orange: “This partnership with Samsung, the leading television manufacturer in Europe and throughout the world, will enable to provide an overview of Orange innovative content and services on all Samsung internet connected TV sets in France”.

The Orange portal, designed to provide an experience which complements traditional TV use, can be accessed in just two clicks on the remote control. It offers a selection of fun and useful services such as Orange sport info, 2424actu, Liveradio, an enhanced programme guide, trailers for weekly cinema releases and free content from Orange cinema series channels. More services and content will be added to the Orange portal in the coming months.
A portal that is easy to use and accessible to all
The ergonomics of the Orange portal were designed to offer easier use and navigation from a Samsung Smart TV. The portal is accessible to all, regardless of Internet service provider, and Orange Internet customers will soon enjoy additional services in the coming months.
