Dan Meyer, Editor, RCR Wireless News
Dan Meyer is currently an editor at RCR Wireless News where he oversees the editorial direction of the magazine, reports on news from the wireless industry and provides opinion stories on topics of concern to the market. Meyer started at RCR Wireless News in 1999 as an editorial assistant and was promoted to reporter in 2000 covering wireless carriers and wireless technologies. Meyer was promoted to managing editor in 2005 and served in that position until the magazine was closed in 2009. Meyer was brought back to RCR Wireless News in mid-2009 by its new owners Austin, Texas-based Arden Media Co. Prior to joining RCR Wireless News, Meyer worked for Center Ice Magazine covering the Colorado Avalanche National Hockey League team and was an intern in the sports department at the Boulder Daily Camera in Boulder, Colo. |

Geoff Stearn, Vice President of Spectrum Development, LightSquared
Geoff Stearn is LightSquared’s Vice President of Spectrum Development and is a 24-year veteran of the commercial wireless industry. He began his career with McCaw Cellular Communications, which became the largest independent wireless company in the United States before being acquired by AT&T in 1994. At McCaw, he held various positions in the regulatory, site development and operations areas. In 1996 he joined Nextel Communications, where he was responsible for the company’s spectrum acquisition and development initiatives. Geoff began his work with LightSquared in 2009 and is now responsible for managing the company’s spectrum portfolio. He has also been the company’s lead representative on the working group that was established at the direction of the FCC to study the issues that have arisen regarding LightSquared’s operation adjacent to the GPS band. |

Ted Abrams, President, Abrams Wireless
Ted Abrams is a technology visionary and patented inventor, creating communications and energy solutions for facilities with heightened security, hardened enclosure, isolation, or underground placement. He is a professional engineer, licensed in both electrical and chemical engineering, with competencies in wireless broadband – Macro, DAS, Femto, conventional and renewable energy – generation and storage, electrochemical, mechanical. He has done product development work for eight successful launches in the Americas and the EU. Mr. Abrams is a member of IEEE, AIChE, ISMSP, and ASHRAE. |

Jake MacLeod, Gray Beards Consulting
Jake is a communications industry veteran with over 30 years of experience in network design, deployment and operations. Gray Beards Consulting was established in 2009 to provide consulting services to government and commercial entities regarding communications network design, deployment and operations.
As Executive Vice President, Government Solutions Business Unit (GSBU) for Powerwave Technologies, Inc. Jake established and developed the GSBU in Washington, DC. Responsible for all aspects of the GSBU management and operations which focused on the Public Safety, DHS and DoD markets. Jake spearheaded the Public Safety DAS network design and deployment plans for Raytheon on the LA-RICS (Los Angeles Regional Interoperable Communications System) program for Powerwave.
Jake spent 10 years as Bechtel as Principal Vice President, Chief Technology Officer and Bechtel Fellow. He was responsible for the development of Bechtel’s Network Planning and Network Optimization engineering teams (150+). Proposed the Iraq Rapid Reconstruction Plan for Communications Networks (wireline and Public Safety Wireless) and led the team of specialists in Baghdad to execute the plan. Responsible for the design and development of Bechtel’s state of the art communications laboratories at Idaho National Laboratories and at Bechtel in Frederick, MD which provided applied research and product development services including analysis and characterization of UMTS, HSDPA, Node B Hotels, WiMAX, and DAS. Led team to analyze Smart Grid Technologies and Data Centers. Led the development of the Virtual Survey Tool, an automated GIS based network-planning tool. Conceived and produced the Bechtel Communications Technical Journal, an authoritative technical publication focused on operations issues. Produced the Bechtel Technical Journal – a multiple business unit technology journal. Conceived and hosted biannual technology debates which identified the pros and cons of the most advanced communications technologies. Represented Bechtel on various industry boards and at industry conferences by providing keynote and technical presentations at approximately 12 industry conferences per year.
Prior to Bechtel Jake spent nine years with Hughes Network Systems where he designed and deployed advanced wireless communications technologies in Russia, the US and Indonesia. Jake started his career as a Transmission Engineer in 1978 with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in San Antonio, TX. Jake Graduated with a BS degree in Composite Science Education from the University of Texas in Austin, TX. |

Khurram P. Sheikh, CTO & President, Powerwave Technologies
Khurram P. Sheikh is presently Chief Technology Officer of Powerwave Technologies. Mr. Sheikh joined the company in August 2007 in his current capacity and is also the Chairman of the Powerwave Technical Advisory Board. In this role he leads the global product/business units for the company as well the global teams for research and development.
Mr. Sheikh was employed by Time Warner Cable from August 2005 through 2007, as Vice President, Wireless Strategy and Development where he was responsible for the cable and media company’s entry into the wireless space. Between 2000 and 2005, Mr. Sheikh was Chief Technology Advisor for various divisions within Sprint where he led the next generation advanced technology efforts for the company. Mr. Sheikh is widely recognized in the industry for his pioneering efforts in the development of mobile wireless broadband or “4G” wireless technology including WiMAX and LTE. Mr. Sheikh received advanced graduate degrees in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Wireless Communications from Stanford University. He also completed an executive development course in Product Development from the Harvard Business School. |

Seth Buechley, President, SOLiD Technologies USA
Seth Buechley is President of SOLiD Technologies, USA, a leading provider of Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and optical backhaul solutions. Seth began his wireless career as a co-founder of CORD Communications, a turnkey network implementation company acquired by publicly-traded WesTower. He was then a founding investor and Vice Chairman of Washington Oregon Wireless (WOW), a Sprint PCS affiliate serving a total population of 1.5 million. In 2001, Seth co-founded TriPower, a leading DAS integrator based in the San Francisco Bay Area. After some time in the investment banking and management consulting fields, in 2008 Seth returned to the exciting DAS and backhaul markets to lead SOLiD’s North American activity. |

Mr. Forkas has 12 years of experience in the Wireless Tower Industry as founder of Milestone Communications. Milestone has developed and managed over 50 towers in the Washington Metropolitan region and manages over 600 locations for future infrastructure development. Mr. Forkas has 25 years experience as an entrepreneur in the commercial real estate business. Prior to forming Milestone Communications, Mr. Forkas formed Milestone Communities Inc. a real estate development company that has developed residential and commercial properties in the US and Canada. He also held positions at Bank of America, Weyerhaeuser Real Estate Company and Oxford Development Corp.

Daniel C. Agresta III, a 14 year veteran of the telecommunications industry, is the Vice President of DAS Sales & Business Development for American Tower. Mr. Agresta is responsible for all carrier sales, real estate in-building negotiations, landlord relationships, and business development efforts for the DAS Solutions division. In addition, to the 225 active neutral host DAS systems, his team markets over 1200 indoor DAS venues across the nation. His team is also responsible for collocating and backfilling the 450 ODAS nodes that are either active and or in deployment. Prior to this role, he served as Vice President of Sales for the former SpectraSite organization, where he was responsible for the company’s nationwide collocation sales activity. Mr. Agresta has served as Vice President of National Accounts, responsible for the ATT and T-Mobile accounts. He also served in various M&A, sales management and site development roles. Susan Simmons, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, CSMG
Susan is the Managing Director of CSMG where she holds global responsibility for firm management, business development and thought leadership. Her experience covers a broad range of topics and clients including service providers, equipment/services vendors and large investors. Over the course of her twenty-year career, she has consulted across the full range of strategy services, including growth and business transformation, ecosystem development, go-to-market strategy, business optimization, corporate/board strategy and deal development.
Since joining CMSG, she has focused intensively on wireless and broadband services, especially the advanced infrastructure that enables converged offerings for both consumers and business customers. Some of Susan’s successes during her tenure at CSMG have included efforts focused on 3G and 4G business models and pricing strategies, video and content-delivery business models, technology and service economics, and product and marketing strategies targeting industry verticals and subject matter experts.
Prior to CSMG, Susan was a senior project manager at Navigant Consulting Inc., where she covered business strategy, financial analysis, market studies, collaborative facilitation and regulatory support in the energy industry. Susan holds a Master of Science in Real Estate from MIT and graduated summa cum laude from the Honors Economics program at Boston College. |
