TELECOM NZ CHOOSES CDMA

WELLINGTON, New Zealand-Telecom New Zealand announced it will adopt cdmaOne technology, but keep investing in its Time Division Multiple Access network.

The company said it will continue to invest in its existing TDMA and analog networks in cooperation with its supplier L.M. Ericsson. The carrier plans to launch cdmaOne technology in early 2001 and begin negotiations with vendors soon.
