Magellan introduces GPS companion for Visor

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.-Magellan, the company responsible for creating several clip-on GPS readers for the Palm, recently introduced its new GPS Companion for Handspring’s Visor.

The companion fits into the Springboard expansion slot on the back of the Visor and displays GPS information, including the user’s position on a map. The maps are contained in the Quo Vadis software package produced by Marcosoft, which develops GPS technology for handhelds. The GPS Companion allows Visor users to create and save waypoints and to send waypoints to other Visor users.

Magellan’s GPS Companion for Handspring’s Visor retails at $150 and is compatible with every version of the Visor.
