Access, Adobe partner for mobile

TOKYO-Access, a leading embedded browser company based in Japan, and Adobe Systems announced they have partnered for the PDF application over mobile handsets. Based on the contract, both companies will jointly develop a system that will let mobile users read PDF files over their mobile handsets.

PDF is the de facto standard developed by Adobe for electronic documents. Users need to purchase software to convert files into PDF files. However, users can read the PDF files using free browsing software.

Based on the contract, Access will develop a Netfront browser to allow mobile users to read PDF files over their mobile handsets. Netfront is the flagship product of Access. Access has been providing Netfront to 86 million units of terminals produced by more than 80 manufacturers.
