700 MHz auction appears to be winding down

WASHINGTON-The auction for 700 MHz C- and D-block licenses appears to be winding down.

During round 42, only 15 new bids were placed-all of them on lesser markets.

The last major market to receive a new bid was San Diego. Aloha Partners L.P. bid more than $2.1 million in round 37.

Aloha Partners’ bids for the Pacific economic area group license and the Los Angles-Anaheim, Calif., consolidated market (statistical) area license remain the same at more than $4 million and more than $5 million respectively.

No bidders dropped out since round 30, so there are still 103 active bidders. Bid amounts now total nearly $110 million.

Aloha Partners has made the most high bids, 70, totaling more than $23 million.
