Video: CommScope on in-building wireless trends

CommScope Inc. recently posted on its blog an infographic capturing some of the on-going trends in in-building wireless.

Among the findings:

– Close to 80% of mobile data use occurs indoors, with usage dominated by smartphones.

– About 30 billion square meters of indoor commercial real estate exist, but only about 2% of that is currently covered by an in-building wireless system to improve coverage and capacity.

– 2/3 of smartphone users expect a website to load in 4 seconds or less.

CommScope recently raised its sales and earnings guidance due to the strength of demand for its macro-site and DAS solutions. RCR’s Kelly Hill spoke with Philip Sorrels, vice president of strategic marketing for wireless at CommScope, to get more perspective on the trends the company is seeing.
