TOA Technologies bets on mobility for growth in Latin America

TOA Technologies began its operations in Latin America two years ago. Focused on mobile workforce management, the company is betting on rising enterprise mobility to increase its revenues in the region.

“There’s a really strong trend toward mobility, and that’s not just limited to  Latin America,” said Francis Barassi, TOA Technologies VP of sales for Latin America. “We’ve been extremely successful. There’s been a lot of interest in our solution in the region. Latin American companies are adopting mobile technologies at a very rapid pace.”

Among Latin American trends, Barassi pointed out that companies in the region are embracing mobility and adopting cloud-based solutions, since they reduce time-to-market.

However, there are still barriers to face. Providing employees with mobile devices with installed applications can be very expensive and hard to maintain, Barassi said. He also highlighted connectivity issues as another barrier.

For TOA Technologies, challenges in the near future include the need to increase and diversify its customer base, including utility firms and other industry segments, Barassi said.

Barassi seemed very optimistic about the region’s results and the outlook for the rest of 2013. “Our growth projections are extremely aggressive for the year,” he said. “And definitely some of the big events that Brazil is going to be hosting will mean a lot of additional investment in infrastructure which will be a big impetus for mobility and for enhancing the customer experience.”
