Partnerships: Sprint signs 4G roaming deals; Picochip/Wavesat test LTE interoperability; and more

Sprint signed international 4G roaming agreements with Digicel in Jamaica and Global Mobile in Taiwan. The agreement will allow certain Sprint devices to automatically detect the Digicel and Global Mobile networks and allow customers to connect and roam onto the networks. Pricing and launch details are not yet available.

Picochip and Wavesat together announced they have successfully completed interoperability testing between Picochip’s PC960x LTE small cell base station solution and Wavesat’s Odyssey 9000 family of UE chipsets. The companies earlier this year announced a memorandum of understanding involving end-to-end LTE interoperability testing for their products.
