Alliances: Sprint and Samsung, Novatel in Japan and more

Novatel Wireless said a2Network Corp., an MVNO for NTT DoCoMo in Japan, is launching its MiFi 2372 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot.
Sprint Nextel Corp. and Samsung Telecommunications America have teamed up in an attempt to break the Guiness record for collecting the largest donation of mobile phones in one location. The collection is taking place April 15-18 at the Samsung Mobile 500 race at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas.
Westmont College signed a University Advantage Program contract with AT&T, which allows it to offer discounted wireless products and services to students, faculty and staff. The school also announced a new iPhone application for the college community that provides access to on- and off-campus information.
CelleBrite announced that Illinois Valley Cellular is now offering CelleBrite’s CelleSync mobile data backup and synchronization application for all its wireless subscribers. The service allows customers to back up or transfer information from their mobile device either in an IVC retail outlet or over the air.
