Moto demos TD-LTE network in support of China Mobile

Motorola Inc. said it has successfully deployed a TD-LTE network in Geneva, Switzerland to support China Mobile Communications Corp.’s presenceat the ITU Telecom World 2009 event. The network uses the 2.6 GHz spectrum band, which is expected to be the band used for LTE deployments in international markets.
Motorola said that the network supports mobility, hand-over and data applications like high-definition video streaming on both the downlink and uplink, GPS navigation, Voice over Internet Protocol and Web browsing. Motorola said the network can support downlink speeds in excess of 100 megabits per second.
Motorola demonstration followed similar tests of FDD-LTE using the 2.6 GHz band in Barcelona and a 700 MHz FDD-LTE demo in Las Vegas.
