Venture capital financing wrap-up: Provigent and RipCode

The following list includes venture capital and other investments into wireless companies announced during the past week. The value of the investment is included when available.
--Provigent: Lightspeed Venture Partners led a $10 million fifth round of funding into Provigent, which makes System-on-a-Chip solutions for broadband wireless products. Existing investors Sequoia Capital, Pitango Venture Capital, Globespan Capital Partners, Magma Venture Partners, Ascend Technology Ventures, Delta Ventures, Stata Venture Partners and Dr. Andrew Viterbi also participated in the round.
--RipCode: Granite Ventures led a $12.5 million round of financing into RipCode Inc., which provides Internet and mobile video infrastructure solutions. Other investors included Hunt Ventures, El Dorado Ventures, Vesbridge Partners and ATA Ventures. Eric Zimits, managing director of Granite Ventures, joins the company’s board of directors as part of the financing. RipCode said it will use the funding to expand sales, marketing and product development.
