Ad spending in wireless

Carriers hold top spots, handset cos. don't register

RCR Wireless News' sister publication Advertising Age ranked the leading national advertisers in its June 23 issue. Interestingly, wireless carriers accounted for the No. 1, 2 and 3 spots in U.S. advertising spending by company in 2007. (See below.)

    Why does the Ad Age list on their website have a different ranking? Proctor & Gamble was #1 on their website, T-Mobile and Comcast did not show up at all.What assumptions caused your list to be different?Thank you.

    it will continue until their margins are hit by a downturn and then the corporate mergers will start.

    Wireless service providers are spending billions of dollars each year to steal each others' customers. This just does not seem like the best use of resources.
