Infrastructure awards wrap-up: Navini, Nortel, Nokia Siemens and more

The following list details this week’s infrastructure awards for the cellular, Wi-Fi, and WiMAX industries. The contracts are broken down by transmission technology, country and vendor. The value of the contract is included when available.
WiMAX
–Bulgaria: Max Telecom has chosen Navini Networks to provide WiMAX equipment for a nationwide broadband mobile communications service.
–United States: The state of Kentucky deployed a WiMAX network supplied by Nortel Networks covering government-owned buildings. Nortel also provided a wireless mesh network to cover 22 state resort parks.
Miscellaneous
–Thailand: Nokia Siemens Networks signed a fixed network contract with DTAC Network to provide its International Gateway solution.
–Worldwide: Telefonica awarded a contract to Astellia to test and monitor its second-generation and third-generation wireless networks. The company has supplied GSM test equipment to Telefonica since 2002.
