NeuStar picks up mobile IM company

STERLING, Va.—NeuStar Inc. said it acquired Followap Inc., a U.K.-based company that provides mobile instant messaging products for Europe and Asia.

The deal is valued at about $139 million.

Followap has a customer base of 17 mobile carriers, including Vodafone, Turkcell, 3 Group, Wind and Mobinil. NeuStar said it expects Followap to generate revenues of more than $25 million next year and more than $50 million in 2008.
