Convergin wins Tekelec contract

MORRISVILLE, N.C.-Israeli-based Convergin, which provides wireless convergence servers, has won a contract with Tekelec, a developer of next-generation fixed and mobile packet networks, to accelerate Internet Multimedia Subsystem deployments with fixed-mobile convergence solutions.

In the deal, Convergin’s Accolade platform will be resold as Tekelec’s Real Convergence IMS offering.

Convergin said the combination of its core Accolade Wireless Convergence Server and Tekelec’s carrier-grade switching products creates a mobile switching solution with Session Initiation Protocol domains. Convergin also is integrating Accolade with the Tekelec 6000 Voice over Internet Protocol to offer enhanced SIP-based services across fixed and mobile networks.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
