Sony Ericsson, Mobilearia partner on in-vehicle Bluetooth

RALEIGH, N.C.-Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications and MobileAria announced a partnership to promote in-vehicle Bluetooth adoption.

MobileAria said it will support and market Sony Ericsson’s T39 and T68 GSM/GPRS phones, and the T60 CDMA phone with MobileAria’s True Hands Free service, which is expected to launch at the end of the year.

The True Hands Free service voice enables drivers’ laptop computers and mobile phones.

At launch, using MobileAria’s service with a laptop and an Ericsson Bluetooth phone, drivers will be able to use voice commands to read, file, forward, reply, delete or prioritize their e-mail. They also will be able to dial the phone by saying the phone number or saying the contact name; navigate through voice mail and customer service prompts; answer or hang up the phone; and listen to personalized headlines, sports, financial and entertainment news.

Upcoming MobileAria True Hands Free applications include the ability to listen to Microsoft Outlook contact information, calendar and to-do list, as well as real-time traffic information and driving directions.
