Alcatel-Lucent snares América Móvil LTE deal

Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) said it was selected by América Móvil to provide infrastructure for its LTE and 4G network rollout in Latin America.

The deployment is expected to begin in Puerto Rico with mobile operator Claro, which is expected to launch commercial mobile broadband services in the coming weeks.

Alcatel-Lucent said Claro will use its LTE solution, including LightRadio portfolio of products.

Commenting on the agreement with América Móvil, Osvaldo Di Campli, president of Alcatel-Lucent activities in Latin America, said the company looks forward to sharing this knowledge with América Móvil as LTE continues its roll-out across Latin America.
