Avaya targets emerging markets with IP Office 8.0

Avaya unveiled a new version of its unified communications solution targeting small- and mid-sized enterprises that includes new capabilities for SME, including mobile collaboration and productivity.

Avaya noted that among the targets for the IP Office 8.0 product is a focus on emerging markets due to the range of SME clients.

“We recognize that small and mid-size businesses need sophisticated communications but they should be easy to manage and use, and affordable to implement,” noted Thiago Siqueira, technology director at Avaya Brazil.

Siqueira explained to RCR Wireless News that Avaya has approximately 30 million worldwide users on small- and mid-sized communications platforms.

The SME market is also a goal for Avaya’s Brazilian unit, and a key pillar to its growth plan. Siqueira explained that Avaya expects at least a 30% increase in revenues from the SME market.

Worldwide, the company’s goal is an increase of 15% in its global revenue. The Latin America region is one of the fastest-growing markets in the world, and the region’s progress is driven by Brazil. To reach this goal, Avaya plans to extend beyond contact center solutions, although it still represents the biggest part of its revenues.

Avaya aims to be an important player in the multibillion-dollar enterprise market for communication tools, a strategy it has based on three pillars: contact center solutions, unified communications and sharing information’s tools, and data portfolio solutions.
