Salesforce and partners to drive nearly 500,000 jobs in India by 2020

IDC reports India’s cloud computing market will grow at a 26% CAGR through 2020.

San Francisco-based cloud computing firm Salesforce.com and its partners are looking to to drive nearly 500,000 jobs in the Indian market by 2020, India press reported.

The reports note that by 2020, Salesforce.com is expected to drive the creation of 136,000 jobs within its customer base. Additionally, the firm and its ecosystem are also expected to enable the creation of 351,000 indirect jobs along the supply and distribution chains serving customers.

An IDC report sees cloud spending in India increasing at a 26% compound annual growth rate between 2015 and 2020, with spending on public cloud in India expected to reach $1.408 billion by 2020. The report also states the benefits of cloud computing coming from Salesforce.com customers in India will add $4.2 billion worth of gross domestic product to the India economy, and that cloud computing was responsible for close to $8 billion of the revenues generated by business organizations in the India market.
