Domino’s ditches T-Mobile Tuesdays due to excess demand

The T-Mobile Tuesdays promotion will not include a free Domino’s pizza this week, but is set to include Lyft, heavy reliance on MLB

The T-Mobile Tuesdays promotion enters its third week with a slightly altered “free” line up as initial partner Domino’s withdrew its pizza offer due to higher-than-expected demand.
T-Mobile US admitted last week via its Twitter page that it lost Domino’s as part of the promotion, noting the pizza company couldn’t keep up with customer demand for free pizzas. Domino’s had been involved in the first two weeks of the promotion, offering T-Mobile US customers a free two-topping pizza.

In addition to Domino’s, the first two promotions also included a free Frosty from Wendy’s and a free digital video rental from Vudu. This past week also included a free ride via Lyft valued at up to $15, while the initial week’s promotion included free in-flight Wi-Fi via Gogo and company stock. The T-Mobile Tuesdays promotion was launched June 6 as part of the carrier’s “Un-carrier 11” event.
T-Mobile US has yet to unveil what free offers will be on deck for the third promotion, though in admitting to losing Domino’s the wireless operator said Lyft was in. This week also looks to be relying heavily on Major League Baseball for various discounts and contests. Those discounts include a $20 coupon to the MLB online store, with contests to win $50 and $100 gift cards and a trip to the MLB All-Star game.
The initial attempt at the T-Mobile Tuesdays promotion ended up crashing the application, resulting in carrier CEO John Legere taking to social media channels to ask for patience. The carrier eventually got the application sorted later in the day.
