Opanga Networks Announces Commercial Availability of Its Second Generation Product at Mobile World Congress 2016 (sponsored content)

Seattle Washington — Opanga, the leader and pioneer of Traffic Densification Technology™ (TDT), is pleased to announce today the commercial availability of its second generation product, Network Coordinated Super Scheduler™ (NCSS), providing mobile operators with a unique, disruptive network optimization solution and game-changing economic value.

Building on the market success of its first-generation client-based Open Mobile Video Platform™, Opanga’s growing TDT-based family of products have already provided mobile operators with a ten-fold reduction in content delivery costs while also benefitting CDN’s by delivering a vastly better video experience for their consumers using Opanga’s patented device MicroCaching.

“With NCSS, we’re applying Traffic Densification Technology as a software-based solution that is hosted on existing commercial hardware in the mobile operator’s (S)Gi-LAN data centers and is NFV/SDN ready”, said Opanga’s CTO Jeff Harrang. “In mobile networks around the world, we have proven that NCSS can boost the mobile network’s traffic-carrying capacity by 40% while simultaneously improving the end user quality of experience”.

Opanga’s NCSS is unique and is the only software network optimization solution in the world that requires no custom hardware or integration with the operator’s mobile network or external content delivery networks. While older network traffic optimization solutions are now being re-marketed as encryption-capable, NCSS is the only fresh-thinking design built specifically for the challenges of radio cellular networks and the realities of todays encrypted OTT traffic.

“We’ll be at MWC this year engaging with operators for both our NCSS and OMVP products” said Harrang. “Traffic on mobile networks will continue to grow exponentially driving never ending CAPEX outlay. Operators that conquer that problem with software innovation in the core of their network will be able to differentiate their services with video at the lowest cost per GByte delivered”
