Redefining real time mobile communications with disruptive, cloud-based solutions from GENBAND

Powerful cloud-based software solutions, coupled with increasingly virtualized network functionality, will define the next wave of disruptive innovation. These tools, if strategically deployed, allow communications service providers (CSPs) to rapidly bring new applications to market with the scale and differentiation needed to gain a competitive advantage.

Achieving results that create new revenue opportunities and drive business value is a difficult proposition. To accomplish this objective major players like IBM, Deloitte, SAP and others have either partnered with or turned to GENBAND’s communications platform-as-a-service (PaaS), Kandy, which supports more than 16 million users and is helping to bring thousands of innovative real time communications use cases to market.

“There are millions of applications in the world, and millions more to come. What we need is a way to make them better, and that’s where embedded communications comes in,” Paul Pluschkell, Kandy founder told RCR Wireless News. “Kandy enables seamless, natural communications, helping to democratize access and improve business flows and interactions.”

The company’s Kandy Wrappers are simple turnkey RTC micro services designed to enable rapid service creation for a better digital and customer experience within your business processes.

In addition to being supported by GENBAND API offerings, Kandy Wrappers are quickly advancing to include concierge, e-commerce, healthcare, enterprise and social applications, all of which bolster customer engagement and satisfaction. In the highly competitive carrier market, engagement and satisfaction are key drivers of reducing churn and creating new revenues.

CSPs need to effectively use cloud services, APIs and SDKs to enhance the connected experience for end users with real time communication services including screen sharing, virtual presence and collaboration tools and rich video-based applications, which are key to maintaining a competitive edge against Over-the-Top (OTT) providers.

Regarding OTT players, Kandy’s fring white label OTT solution provides CSPs with a global OTT platform that enables instant messaging, voice and video services that are interoperable with rich communications services across all networks. All in all, fring provides an innovative way for CSPs to take back market share from OTTs.

“Communications service providers have to act now so that they can provide innovative, connected experiences to their customers for revenue growth, revenue retention, branding and market transformation,” said Pluschkell.

“By embedding real time communications pieces of ‘Kandy’ like group messaging, authentication, conferencing and video into mobile apps, we are enabling our CSP customers and enterprises to leverage rich communications applications to rapidly create valuable new services,” he continued. “GENBAND and Kandy can help your company re-engage with end users, protect subscriber relationships, speed-up time-to-market and grow the customer base through value added services like payments and advertising.”
