In case you missed the latest episodes of RCRtv, our weekly recap is bringing you insight on topics and guests featured on RCRtv’s weekly programing.

August 7th was the series premiere of RCRtv’s newest edition, Wi-Fi NOW with host Claus Hetting. Wi-Fi NOW focuses on public access Wi-Fi in all its elements with an in-depth look into the technology, business models, innovation, and sources of signal disruption. Episode one featured guests William Butte, Partner at Wildfire 5G and Steve Hratko, Director of Carrier Marketing at Ruckus Wireless. Hetting, Butte, and Hratko share their views on the rise of the independent city Wi-Fi network and if it is an alternative to cellular.

 

Robert Oberhofer, VP of product marketing for ItsOn, was the guest for this week’s NFV/SDN Reality Check show. Oberhofer provides insight into how vendors are using virtualization technologies like SDN and NFV to bolster their carrier support platforms.
