Ericsson on 5G – HetNet Happenings: Episode 23

This week on HetNet Happenings, RCR Wireless News Managing Editor Sean Kinney discusses the research and development being done by Ericsson that’s driving 5G toward an international standard.

Hakan Andersson, head of 5G strategy for Ericsson’s radio business unit, talks about a recent 5G mobile device demo conducted at the Ericsson offices in Plano, Texas.

Andersson then details the process that will take 5G from concept to commercialization with an important benchmark set for the 2018 Olympics in South Korea.

Andersson also discusses the research collaborations among Ericsson and numerous academic institutions including King’s College London and the University of Dresden in Germany.
