Idea Cellular subscriber base growing faster than competition’s

India’s Idea Cellular added more subscribers than rivals last quarter, for a 64% profit increase. Idea Cellular earned more than $125 million in the third quarter, a dramatic increase from profits the previous year. Reuters reports that the company added more than 2.5 million subscribers in December, more than both Bharti Airtel and Vodafone India.

SK Telecom LTE subscriber base soars, along with profit

SK Telecom said its fourth-quarter earnings soared. The carrier says the increase is due to a spike in the number of LTE subscribers, and a rise in sales from its business solution service. Net profits were up more than 71% from a year ago, for a total of $465 million in Q4.
