Newfield Wireless’ CEO on TekComms integration, VoLTE

Newfield Communications was acquired by Tektronix Communications late last year, and Newfield’s CEO Marc Bensadoun talked with RCR at Super Mobiltiy Week about the company’s integration with Tektronix, its offerings and the trends driving the market, including voice over LTE.

Newfield focuses on geoanalytics, and Bensadoun said that it supports use cases that range from network optimization and trouble ticketing, network planning to device analytics and customer experience, to data monetization related to geomarketing.

“We definitely see our operator customers moving to feed data links with these very rich data sources, which we can provide,” Bensadoun said. “And each of the operators tends to have their own use cases which are most valuable to them at any given time.”

In the U.S. market, Bensadoun said there is a lot of attention to details of how LTE functions and how to put mission-critical voice onto best-effort IP networks, and speaks about the visibility into VoLTE offered by Newfield’s solutions. Watch the video:
