CCA: Monetization next step in LTE revolution

LAS VEGAS — Now that LTE deployments have become nearly ubiquitous among the nation’s larger operators, the next challenge for operators is how to drive more revenues from those deployments. Having spent billions of dollars in acquiring the necessary wireless spectrum and costs associated with deploying these new IP-based networks, operators would like to quickly enjoy the fruits of those labors.

That process was the topic of discussion for a panel session at this week’s Competitive Carriers Association event in Las Vegas, where representatives from mobile operators and vendors highlighted the challenges, ideas they are putting into the market and recommendations for carriers looking to drive increased revenues.

RCR Wireless News spoke with Rebecca Prudhomme, VP of product and solutions marketing at Amdocs, on those recommendations. Prudhomme also touched on the challenges mobile operators could face as they roll out voice over LTE services when it comes to ensuring quality of service.
