LTEWS: F5 Networks on diameter, LTE roaming and NFV

Peter Nas, senior solutions architect for F5 Networks, spoke with RCR Wireless News on diameter signaling at the LTE World Summit 2014.
Nas said that as next-generation networks become a reality, new challenges appear that were not obvious from the specifications in terms of interoperability and the scaling of diameter signaling in actual networks.
Nas also spoke of the interest in network function virtualization; and the decisions operators face in recognizing that SS7 networks will exist for a considerable time even as they also would like to move toward diameter signaling.
