Mobile Minute:
French service provider Orange was reportedly hit by hackers earlier this month. Through the My Account section of the Orange website, the hackers reportedly accessed about 800,000 customer records including customer names, addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers. The hackers were not able to get passwords, but they were able to see a portion of each victim’s customer account id. Orange says it is already in contact with the affected customers. European service providers are required to report such security violations to national authorities within 24 hours of discovery.
