MWC 2012: Amdocs launches solution to accelerate LTE deployments

Amdocs (DOX) launched an automated planning and design solution, dubbed Amdocs Single Click Network Rollout, that the company said supports accelerated LTE rollouts. Amdocs explained that the solution is designed to enable service providers to reduce the design time for new base stations and optimize configuration for LTE, 4G and 3G networks.

As Amdocs OSS Division VP of marketing Joe Frost explained to RCR Wireless News, the new operational support systems planning solution will allow network planning teams to scale their operations with lower capital expenditures by addressing the challenge of new LTE network rollouts and expanded Ethernet backhaul capabilities.

Amdocs launched the offering just ahead of the Mobile World Congress event and plans to discuss it further at the trade show in Barcelona, Spain.

Amdocs focuses on tier-one service providers, that according to Amdocs have in excess of 10,000 new base stations to design, build, test and commission when rolling out an LTE network. Amdocs noted that rapid rollouts are critical for operators to ensure a better customer experience and faster network monetization.
