Comptel’s Convergent Mediation platform was already deployed by Telefónica’s Movistar Argentina, which has been a Comptel customer since 2002. Movistar said it manages about 600 million transactions daily.

Adriana Kohner, manager at Telefónica Global Technology Argentina, said the company believes that the OSS solution will provide a solid foundation for managing its fixed business and enabling future uptake of converged services.

Telefónica de Argentina is the largest CSP in Argentina, counting 23 million fixed and mobile subscribers. The company has more than three million broadband accounts and 25,000 kilometres of fiber-optic cable capacity in the country.

According to Comptel, its Convergent Mediation platform offers simplifies mediation and charging by hiding network complexity and linking services and subscriber and payment types. Its vendor-neutral platform is also designed to integrate with the CSP’s legacy BSS/OSS and customer retention management systems, as well as extend to next-generation environments and services.
