Movers & Shakers: Exec shake ups for AOL & Alcatel-Lucent; Verizon's new President; and more

Vibes, a mobile marketing and technology company, announces that John Haro has joined the company as chief technology officer. Haro joins Vibes from iCrossing, a global digital marketing and technology company, where he was senior vice president of software engineering for product development.

Interop Technologies, a provider of core solutions for messaging, device management, and connectivity gateways, has named Doug Thompson Jr. to the position of Director of Product Management. Prior to joining Interop, Thompson served as Senior Manager, Product Management and Marketing at Huawei Technologies. Read more.

Alcatel-Lucent has announced new management changes. A new business group – Software, Services & Solutions – has been formed, and will be led by Adolfo Hernandez as its President. Stephen Carter will become President of the EMEA Region. Corporate Strategy will come under the leadership of Jeong Kim, President of Bell Labs. Robert Vrij, President Americas Region, will assume the additional responsibility of the company’s strategic alliances. Orange France announced that they have appointed Laurent Biojoux to be Customer Relations Director. Laurent Biojoux was previously in charge of the network of 600 stores and Customer Relations management for Bouygues Telecom. Read more.

The Verizon Board of Directors has named Verizon President and COO Lowell C. McAdam as president and chief executive officer of Verizon Communications Inc. Ivan G. Seidenberg will step down from the CEO role but remain chairman to continue to facilitate the transition. Previously, McAdam was president and CEO of PrimeCo Personal Communications. Read more.

EarthLink, IP infrastructure and services company, announced that two senior sales executives have joined the company’s leadership team to run its newly established Premier Business Solutions and National Accounts divisions. Mae Squier-Dow joins EarthLink as President of Premier Business Solutions, overseeing the EarthLink Business mid-market sales and account management teams. According to various news sites AOL Corp’s president of global advertising, Jeff Levick, is reportedly leaving the company. Others also reported to leave AOL include Lauren Hurvitz, head of corporate communications, and Kathy Andreasen, the head of human resources. Due to the shake up Ned Brody will be promoted to chief revenue officer.
