BEIJING-ZTE Corp. said it has opened what it describes as a flagship factory and research and development center in India.

The center, which is located in Manesar near Gurgaon, covers more than 4,000 square meters. The company intends to make CDMA, GSM, DSL and NGN equipment as well as handsets in the facility, according to ZTE.

“Our new facility will provide additional local support to our valued Indian customers, allowing us to better meet their requirements and expectations,” said Zhang Renjub, ZTE’s vice president of the South-Asian region.
